Jillian Winters is an author and screenwriter based in Los Angeles, California.

Her writing melds genres, creating intriguing and suspenseful stories driven by character and mood. Her work tends to examine themes like gender, mental illness, repression, existential alienation, and identity.

Her short films have played at festivals like Cannes (Diversity Showcase), NYFFTY, Sidewalk, and Mammoth Film Festival. Her features have been featured in competitions like Launch Pad, Slamdance, and Screencraft Horror. Her screenplay THE NIGHT BELL won Best Feature at the Women in Horror (Renegade) Film Festival.

While she does not lean heavily on one genre, she is inspired by surrealism, gothic literature, and the horrors and absurdities of the extraordinary and the everyday.

Jillian has her BFA in Film Production from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts. She is currently in the David Lynch Screenwriting MFA program.
